Journal - Who is the oldest family member of your family you have ever met? What do you know about your family history? Have your parents ever told you anything thing about your family history? Do you know what kind of heritage you have? Explain as much as you can about your family and any history you have knowledge of.
The oldest person I have met in my family is my great uncle Dan. He is 87 currently.I know on my mom's side I am 100% Irish, descended from a noble family there. I don't know about my dad's side. I'm pretty sure that in Ireland during the potato famine, my grandmas ancestors went to Canada. They lived there for a while until my Grandma was born and then they came to the US. I'm pretty sure my dad's side is just European of some kind. If you research the O'Byrnes family (which is my grandma's middle name) you'll find a lot of information on that Irish noble family, I think even including a princess.

Journal - Which web design platform did you choose - Wix or Weebly? What are three things you've learned about Web Design so far?
I chose Wix. I wanted to use it because when I was poking around both sites, Wix just seemed like it was easier to use, and it was more creatively put together than Weebly which I liked as well. I learned that texts shouldn't be different for each page, but they should all be similar and on theme because if it isn't then it looks messy. Another thing I learned is that the background shouldn't distract from the words at hand. If it has too much going on, or too many colors, it is hard to read text. And the last thing I learned is that it is important to decorate each page so it is more interesting to look at.

Journal - What have you learned about making a website? Explain.
Well I have learned that it is very time consuming getting everything exactly how you want it to be. So far I have just poked around on wix.com but it seems pretty easy with the way it is laid out. It has what I want format-wise but some parts are confusing and i realize it will take a long time. You also have to pick fonts that go together and colors that work with the background. I like this project and I want to do a very good job on it.

Journal - What do you know about building and creating a website? Have you ever done it before? List qualities of a well designed and well functioning website.
I created a website for an honors biology project. I know that the site I used to create it was really complicated and made editing really difficult. I know a good website should have easy to navigate with multiple tabs. It should also always have the title displayed at the top no matter what tab you are on. When you first go to the website, the most important information should be what comes up. Or if that's not how the website can be put together, then have tabs that tell you what the purpose of the site is. Talking about design, it should be colorful, but not in a way that distracts from the text. Text should be in a reasonably sized font and not in any fancy fonts that make it hard to read. It should also be easy to get to. The web address shouldn't be crazy and unable to find.

Stop-motion voting
1. William Lui- Harlem shake on whiteboards
I thought this video looked amazing. The graphics went together very, very well and the camera was held really steady so it all turned out very well. It also had a lot of humorous elements to it which I really enjoyed. The drawings were done amazingly, and it didn't look sloppy at all. Everything in his video looked awesome.
2. Ainoa Rohaut- Story of heartbreak on paper
Ainoa had a really great looking video. Unlike others it had a very clear plot line, along with very good drawings to go with it. all the motions in her video were fluid and the camera wasn't shaky which added to the visual effects. It was also pretty funny too which made me enjoy more.
3. Brady Sloan- gum
His video was about just a piece of gum, but I thought it visual was very well put together. Everything was very fluid and looked really cool. Nothing was shaky or blurry, and even though there wasn't a strong plot, it all came together to be a very good video.

Journal - Tell me about two things you've learned while creating you stop-motion animation video. Go in to detail about those two items.
I learned that while on moviemaker, you don't need many pictures to create a short video. Since each frame can only be a second, you only need around 15 pics to make the video. I took somewhere around 70 and it came to over a minute.Another thing I learned is that you can't move a lot between frames. If you do then it doesn't make much sense, and becomes very choppy. I had to edit out parts because there was too much difference between shots.
