Journal - What makes a good introduction paragraph to an essay or paper?
Well it hast to grab the reader's attention first. This happens with a statistic, anecdote, or quote. Then you have to tell the reader your topic. Along with stating your topic, you must give background information for it. Then, depending on the paper, you put the thesis statement last. This could be an opinion if it is a persuasive paper, or if it is just informational, you briefly state what will be discussed in the paper.
